Ann Bonander Looft

I started knitting as a child, eleven years old I proudly finished my first sweater. Moving to Stockholm as a young woman I studied sewing, measurement/cutting, fashion drawings, history of art, history of clothing etc.

My dream came true drawing costumes for the theater, and this is something I’ve been doing for over 30 years now, mostly at the Royal Dramatic Theatre and Stockholms Stadsteater. Sometimes set design as well, also for television and film. My work has taken me across Europe, working with Lars Norén at Comedie Francaise in Paris, traveling to Helsinki, Copenhagen, Oslo, Bergen with directors such as Lena Endre, Åsa Kalmér, Stefan Larsson among others.

This year I’ve exhibited at Sven Harry’s Museum of Art. Cay Bond curated the exhibition Art in Fashion, which was such a thrill for me, happy being able to combine both fashion and crafts. I want more of this!

Also exhibited at Blå Hallen in Höganäs, such a pleasure even there, the combination of the arts suits me well.
